According to people familiar with _____, who spoke on condition of anonymity

How strange?  These people are leaking information that they are neither the owner of, nor are they entitled to disclose such information.  If this was the Pentagon, maybe these people should be put together for treason.

Or are they just sharing the data as directed so that when the formal announcement is made, it will not be so much a shock.  So while they may not be authorized to disclose the information, those having developed the information directed that it be distributed before it is formally announced.

Then there is that idiot, that disclosed all those sensitive documents to Wikileaks. Should he, having prefaced the information with the standard disclosure referenced above be released, patted on the shoulder and told that he is a national hero?

Marriage is just a word....

Marriage is a word that while each person on the planet knows exactly what it is and means, every other person may have a slightly different meaning. The problem is that not all the people on the planet have the same definition for marriage.  Throughout history, just about every group, religious or political, has advocated sex and reproduced.  Those groups that felt that sex and reproduction were bad and should never be done have disappeared from the planet.  Hmmmmm, do you think that one could have an effect on the other?

In hindsight, do you think that the killing of female babies was really as good an idea? Entire villages of men exist on the planet, not because they happen to be gay, but rather very few females exist to procreate with. After pondering this situation, killing all the female babies at birth may not have been such a good idea after all....
